Change becomes easier with help.

I can help you to help yourself.
Even the strongest among us can feel lost, unsure or unhappy at times. As a professional counsellor I can help you to understand and manage your problems, and begin to enjoy life to the full. I believe that you have the strength not just to survive, but to truly thrive.

A very human approach

Support That Makes a Lasting Difference

“I’m in a much better place now and want to say thank you for helping me back on my feet”.

“You have done a great job in helping me and I can’t thank you enough”.

“I will, if I need to, recommend you”.

“These counselling sessions have definitely helped me a lot”.

“It’s given me an insight into how I deal with problems”.

“I have found counselling very helpful, as it has helped me change my mindset and view different parts of myself from new perspectives. It’s made me more confident and will help me deal with future situations with a better mentality”.

“Counselling has been very helpful  when it comes to helping me understand situations and how I can interpret them and deal with them to make me less upset”.

“Therapy has really helped me to talk things through and put coping strategies in place when I needed”.

“I think that counselling has really helped me and really supported me when I needed it”.

“Counselling has helped me to talk about things that I feel like I can’t anywhere else or with anyone else, so it’s made me feel calmer and less ‘built-up’ emotionally. I was also pleased when I soon became comfortable to talk when I realised how open and passionate David is”.

“Counselling has been helpful and supportive. I wanted to understand why I felt the way I did and have more clarity, and I have achieved that thanks to these sessions”.

“Thank you for helping me navigate a very difficult time in my life, after your support and guidance I feel in a much better place, more confident and more self- aware”.

“Couldn’t recommend David highly enough, the best counsellor I have ever had!”.

When was the last time you were truly heard?

Your friends, family and colleagues may be listening, but are they really hearing you? I offer a space to be heard in complete confidence and safety.

A place to talk and be yourself.

Finding yourself and being comfortable with who you are can be a challenge. You do not have to be alone in your search.

My name is David, and I am a counsellor.

Helping people has always been important to me, counselling means much more to me than just a job, it is a part of who I am.  I have a belief in myself and my abilities. I have complete faith in the therapeutic process, and what can be achieved.

I am not afraid to be with you on your journey, no matter how tough it gets.

I can help you to overcome whatever might be holding you back in life.  Life is just too short to be unhappy, fearful, or unfulfilled.

You may be experiencing persistent anxiousness, low moods, or mood swings, you might even be questioning your own worth in society or as an individual.

Post-traumatic stress is more common than generally realised; trauma may be the result of emotional, physical, and sexual abuse, or grief - and loss of any kind.  This can be the cause of relationship difficulties, drug or alcohol misuse, and a general decline in health and wellbeing.

I am highly trained and experienced to help and support you through these and many other related problems.

I also specialise in the treatment of young adults, having worked extensively in secondary schools and further education.

I am much more interested in what happened to you, rather than what you may have been told is wrong with you.

Let me help you to face whatever stands in the way of your happiness.

I am an accredited member of the National Counselling Society.

I hold a Masters Degree* in Trauma Informed Practice; and an Honours Degree* in Humanistic Counselling Practice.

I have a current enhanced DBS certificate.

I actively engage in continued professional development.
